Our recent ACVV Congress (30 August to 1 September 2016) impacts on our ability and motivation to be leaders in social service rendering to for more than 300 000 people:
- World makers changing people’s lives! 400+ delegates attended the 3 day session filled with empowerment, capacity building and inspiration.
- ACVV’s investment in Early Child-hood Development carries great returns, reaching 4 540 children in 53 facilities and 2 429 by mobile bus. Here Bollieland ACVV Crèche, Worcester leads us in the celebration.
- Dr Ivan Meyer, Minister of Finance Western Cape: The ACVV is leading by example in taking steps to provide cultural warmth and embrace change in South Africa, as it has been doing for decades. The ACVV’s services are institutional surpluses in vulnerable communities.
- Dr Pieter van Jaarsveld, world re-nowned speaker on emotional intel-ligence and resilience, challenged us to truly exercise active steps to obtain and practice happiness. The many challenges we face as individuals and NPO’s, will not deter us from impacting the lives of others positively.
- Prof Piet Naudé, Director of the Business School of Stellenbosch University inspired us to be the kind of ethical leaders the world needs. He acknowledged the ACVV’s role of substance in communities.
- ACVV’s National Projects binds a nation together! 235 Social Work Practitioners reach-ed 375 498 people through our national projects. Celebrating the in-puts by these ACVV branches during in Child Protection Week and Project One Day Without Shoes.
- Hykie Berg, actor and winner of Survivor Maldives 2011 energized us to use our world changing potential to make a difference in peoples lives. Falling rock-bottom due to drug abuse, knows no boundaries. Respect when helping others stay one of the ACVV’s core functions.
- Elanie Kruger opened our eyes to the extent and everyday reality of human trafficking in SA. Being a victim her-self, her story gripped at our hearts. Supporting and guiding victims need to impact on one emotionally. We have to make a difference in South Africa!
- We were also inspired by Paul Eilers veteran actor with his book reading.
- Our valued and talented Goodwill Ambassador, Tobi Jooste accompanied by Ilse-Louise Harold.
- Wicus van der Merwe when humor relieved our stress.
- Mechiel Boshoff talent lies in the youth
- Heinz Winckler energizing us to take the service forward.
